Rib Lake, WI – Forward Bank is proud to support youth baseball in Rib Lake with an $8,000 donation to the Rib Lake High School and Taylor County Legion Baseball programs, in turn, helping to complete the Herb Scheithauer Batting Cage Facility at Tannery Creek Park.
The double batting cage project was initiated and largely funded through the Herb Scheithauer family, fundraisers, raffles, and generous community donations made in memory of Herb Scheithauer, whose passion for community baseball inspired the effort. To date, the purchase of the double cages, major site work, and concrete work have all been completed.
Forward Bank’s contribution will help fund the final phases of the project, which is being led by Coach Dick Iverson and Asst. Coach Ryan Scheithauer, including turf, equipment, and storage needs, ensuring the facility can be fully utilized by area athletes.
The batting cage will serve multiple teams, including Rib Lake High School, Taylor County Legion, Babe Ruth, Dairyland teams, and younger players learning the game. The facility will proudly bear Herb Scheithauer’s name as a lasting tribute to his love of baseball and its sense of community.
“Baseball is a community sport that teaches teamwork, leadership, and dedication,” said Laura Deuso, Relationship Banker at Forward Bank in Rib Lake. “We’re proud to support a project that was built through community effort and will benefit local youth for generations.”
The community project is nearing completion, with Forward Bank’s donation helping bring it across the finish line.
