Forward Bank

Forward Bank has broken ground on a new facility on the corner of Mueller and Alfred in Athens.

The new facility will be home for Forward Bank to serve all the deposit and loan customers of the bank, and it will include a new interactive teller machine (ITM) technology allowing for expanded self-serve transactions. Forward Insurance will also move into the new facility to create a full-service atmosphere for customers.

“Our decision to move into the Athens community was largely driven by a very talented Forward commercial lender, Jessica Frahm, commented Bill Sennholz, CEO of Forward Bank. “She has already been working with customers in the area and is personally vested in making the community successful.”

The timing of a bank departure from Athens also reinforced Forward’s decision to invest in the new facility. Property for the new facility was secured before the announcement of the other banks closing.

There are currently no plans for the existing downtown Forward Insurance location at 109 Alfred Street.

Expected opening summer 2021.
