Pay a Friend (External)

Use your Forward Bank account to send money to a friend or family member's account at another financial institution with a SMS text or email.

• Use their email address or cell phone number to get started
• Contact information is saved for future payments
• Set up through online banking or mobile app

Recipient Has Two Ways to Accept Payments

1. They can use their debit card number allowing funds to be received within minutes
2. Or they can enter their routing and account number for their preferred financial institution

Your friend or family member has 10 days to accept the payment. You, as the sender, can cancel the payment up until your friend accepts it.

Additional Security

Oh no! You entered your friend's phone number incorrectly and sent your payment to someone you don't know. Don't worry! When you send money with Pay a Friend (external) you must set up a secret word or phrase. In order to receive funds the recipient must enter the secret word.  

Get Started with Pay a Friend (External)

Select Pay a Friend (External) from the menu within online banking or mobile app. 

Pay a Friend (Internal)

Use your Forward Bank account to send money to a friend or family member's Forward Bank account.

• Use their name and account number to get started
• Transfers happen immediately
• Contact information is saved for future payments
• Set up through online banking or mobile app
